The RudyMental Studio Tapes: Intermezzo - dedicated to Saro Liotta

Intermezzo - dedicated to Saro Liotta
Recorded @ the RudyMental Studio in Turin

Intermezzo is a guitar instrumental I dedicate to Saro Liotta, one of the pioneers in the technique of fingerpicking guitar in Italy. I will never forget the first time I saw him in Turin, in the late seventies of last century. I have to say his music was absolutely new for me and I found it beautiful and fantastic. I bought all of his LPs and I still have on tape his L'Attesa, which is, in my opinion, one of the best expressions of fingerstyle guitar I have experienced in my life.

This song in open D tuning - DADF#AD - was recorded using primitive tools - my guitar, among them - at the RudyMental Studio [ © ] vaguely located in my mind or, say, in Turin, Piedmont Italy.

Thanks for listening,
Hugo Beaumont
