Acoustic Guitar Spectacular 2012 - On Tour

Acoustic Guitar Spectacular 2012 - On Tour

May/June 2012

A hand-picked group of internationally recognised guitarists from across the globe will join forces this Autumn to weave some memorable musical magic. Featuring Michael Fix, Andrea Valeri, Nick Charles and Robbie Long.
Description
Presented by Fret Music and Guitarist Australia Magazine

Acclaimed acoustic guitarist Michael Fix – recently named as one of Australia’s Top 25 Guitarists of All Time by readers of Guitarist Australia magazine – will be joined by his Italian protégé, and one of the brightest young stars on the European stage, 21-year-old Andrea Valeri for a series of very special concerts.

Also taking part in ...several of the inaugural Acoustic Guitar Spectacular shows are Melbourne-based player Nick Charles – described by The Age as “Australia’s virtuoso of acoustic roots and blues”, a two-time Australian Flatpicking Guitar Champion and multi-instrumentalist Robbie Long and internationally acclaimed flamenco virtuoso Andrew Veivers.

Each concert has been structured so that each player will featured as a solo artist in the first half, and all players will share the stage in the second half, allowing plenty of opportunity for spontaneity and improvisation.

This is a rare opportunity to see such a wealth of amazing musical talent on the one stage. In particular, it’s a unique chance to see one of the rising stars of the global guitar scene as he embarks on his first tour of Australia.

“I’ve been touring internationally since 2004, and every year I meet incredible guitar players who blow me away,” said Michael Fix.

“I've been looking for an opportunity to bring some of these people to Australia, and I’m thrilled that the first such guitarist will be Andrea Valeri. He's only 21, and I believe he has what it takes to become one the world's great players.

“I urge people to check him out online, and see him in concert, not just to admire his technical excellence, but to be touched by his beautiful original tunes, as well as his smooth Mediterranean charm!”

“I would love to see the Acoustic Guitar Spectacular become an annual event, and I hope to bring many more of the world’s great players to Australia over the next few years.”

The Acoustic Guitar Spectacular 2012 will feature 10 shows in New South Wales and Queensland. Don't miss this one-off opportunity to see these incredible players in action!
